Rohan Ready To Move On

One of the many players benefitting from the arrival of Mick McCarthy at Molineux is ex Spurs winger Rohan Ricketts.

Glenn Hoddle’s first signing for the club was only able to play a bit part in the former England boss’s reign, despite personal pleas for an extended run to gain momentum and find form.

Now a regular in McCarthy’s new look set up, Rohan is proving his point that he is a player who needs regular matches to get into a rhythm that would benefit the team.

Unfortunately, that didn’t stretch to Sundays 3-0 defeat to local rivals Albion, who Rohan says were just that little bit luckier when it came down to the nitty gritty.

“The difference was that when Greening had a shot it was on target and in, and, when the ball went into the box, Kamara got a header in. We didn`t do the same thing. I had shots blocked and put one into the side netting and if one of them had gone in we would have been looking at things in a different light and might have had a chance of getting something out of the game.’

“When I had my chance I came inside and didn`t even make the keeper make a save. People might say that`s unlucky, but to me that`s the difference. Unfortunately they had that little extra 10 per cent, hitting the target and putting one in the top corner and we couldn`t match that.”

The mark of a true is pro can be argued as being eth ability to deal with defeat as well as victory, and Rohan is sure that the current Wolves squad have the ablity to move on following defeat to bitter rivals.

We won`t have a problem and dwell on this too much – we`ve got a good manager who always picks us up.

“We know the fans will be disappointed, it`s their big game and unfortunately we didn`t get the result for them.

“Now we just have to think of it as three points lost, not the fact we`ve lost a big derby.

“Yes we`ve lost three points to a rival team, but we have to go out and get on with it.”

These dys, Wolves have a habit of bouncing back from defeats with hard fought victories. ANo one is expecting any less against league strugglers Sheffield Wednesday this coming Saturday. Not least, the players themselves
