Report: Wolves set sights on potential signing, club interested in ‘young midfielder’

|

According to Jeunes Footeux, Wolverhampton Wanderers have set their sights on a potential signing from Ligue 1 – Girondins de Bordeaux’s ‘young midfielder’ Aurelien Tchouameni. The 19-year-old rose through the youth ranks to the first-team in 2018 and has been a regular at the Matmut Atlantique this season.

Tchouameni made 19 appearances in all competitions in 2018/19, racking up 1353 minutes of playing time, but he’s already amassed 75% of that total just four months into the new campaign. The Frenchman has made 11 league appearances from a possible 16, started every one of his outings under Paulo Sousa.

As per WhoScored, Tchouameni has made one assist, created four chances, averaged 52.3 passes-per-game with 85.4% accuracy, won 15 aerial duels (60%), made 13 successful dribbles (87%), boasts a 45% shot accuracy, has blocked 10 passes/crosses/shots, made 16 clearances and has averaged a tackle (29) or interception (10) every 24 minutes.

Would Aurelien Tchouameni be a good signing for Wolverhampton Wanderers?

Yes

No

Wolves have made a point of signing hot prospects from Europe and Tchouameni could be the latest up-and-coming talent at Molineux. The Midlands outfit will have stiff competition for his signature, however, with Sevilla and Inter Milan also looking to lure him away from France. Time will tell which club succeeds.
