According to TEAMtalk, Wolverhampton Wanderers are ‘keen on securing a deal’ for Jamie Hamilton and may have to battle Liverpool to procure his signature.

In addition to the Reds, TEAMtalk say Brighton & Hove Albion, Everton, Aston Villa, Burnley and Fulham have shown an interest in Hamilton, but Wolves are ‘at the front of the pecking order’.

Which club did Wolves sign Raul Jimenez from?

The 18-year-old has risen through the youth ranks to the Hamilton Academical first-team this season and has gone on to make 14 appearances in all competitions. Hamilton has also represented Scotland at U16 (four games, one goal), U17 (seven games, one goal) and U19 (four games, one goal) level.

Wolves aren’t short of centre-backs with Willy Boly, Conor Coady, Max Kilman, Romain Saiss, Ryan Bennett, Dion Sanderson and Christian Marques, but Nuno Espirito Santo is always looking to the future. The Black and Gold manager has named 17 players aged 21 or under in Wolves’ matchday squad this season, so there’s a clear pathway for youngsters to reach the first-team.

And with three teenagers being signed in the last transfer window – Luke Matheson (17), Enzo Loiocide (19), Leonardo Campana (19) – Hamilton should consider Wolves an attractive proposition.
