Report: Defender has ‘captured the attention’ of Wolves, club ‘tracking’ 22 y/o

According to 90min, Wolverhampton Wanderers are interested in Kristoffer Ajer and could make a move for the 22-year-old this summer. Wolves will have stiff competition to procure Ajer’s signature, however, as 90min say he’s ‘captured the attention’ of Premier League rivals and clubs overseas.

Leicester City, Manchester City, Everton, AC Milan, Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund have entered the race for his signature, but 90min believe Leicester are in pole position as Ajer may be keen to renew acquaintances with manager Brendan Rodgers.

Wolves are on the hunt for a centre-back to accompany Conor Coady, Willy Boly and Max Kilman next season, rather than relying on Romain Saiss and Leander Dendoncker operating in a makeshift role.

The Midlands outfit have been linked with Gabriel Magalhaes, Christian Luyindama, Ousseynou Ba and Ruben Dias among others, but they now have their radar on a more coveted alternative.

Ajer joined Celtic from Start in 2016 and has made 129 appearances in all competitions, scoring five goals and making three assists.

The Norwegian international has won three Scottish Premiership titles, two Scottish Cups and three Scottish League Cups before the age of 23, so it’s not a shock that suitors are flocking.
