Leander Dendoncker could be dropped against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday should Nuno Espirito Santo change Wolverhampton Wanderers’ formation after their Europa League defeat to Espanyol.
Wolves lined up in a 3-5-2 formation on Thursday night, with Morgan Gibbs-White, Dendoncker and Joao Moutinho starting in midfield, but a return to their usual 3-4-3 could see one of the aforementioned trio replaced for another attacker.
Moutinho has been a regular this season and should start on the weekend, Gibbs-White underperformed at the Estadio Cornellà-El Prat and could be replaced by Ruben Neves, so it’s likely to be Dendoncker who misses out on Sunday.

Diogo Jota should be given the nod by Nuno to replace him, as he’s been in fantastic form of late. The 23-year-old scored a hat-trick in the first leg of Wolves’ Europa League last-16 win over Espanyol (February 20) and bagged a brace in their 3-0 win over Norwich City (February 23).
Nuno opted for a 3-4-3 in Wolves’ 0-0 draw at Manchester United (February 1), so he won’t be afraid to line up in the bold formation away to Tottenham.
