Prediction: Wolves defender to start against Tottenham, 22-year-old could make way

Wolverhampton Wanderers welcome Tottenham Hotspur to Molineux on Sunday afternoon and are expected to make up to seven changes from the side that beat Besiktas in midweek. Nuno Espirito Santo heavily rotated his squad for Thursday’s Europa League victory and could bring back a lot of first-team players for their domestic duties.

John Ruddy, Max Kilman, Ryan Bennett, Ruben Vinagre, Oskar Burr, Patrik Cutrone and Pedro Netro started ahead of Rui Patricio, Romain Saiss, Jonny Otto, Matt Doherty, Adama Traore, Raul Jimenez and Diogo Jota as Wolves came out 4-0 winners, but Saiss is one of many likely to get his spot back. Kilman could be the one making way.

Saiss has made 21 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring two goals. He’s been a regular at centre-back in the Premier League and has often been rested in Europe – unused substitute in 1-0 defeat to Braga (September 19), unused substitute in 1-0 win over Slovan Bratislava (November 7), out of matchday squad against Besiktas (December 12).

The 29-year-old should return to starting lineup against a Tottenham side coming off the back of two defeats from their last three games.
