Player ‘recommended’ by scout, has ‘work permit issues’ – Wolves ‘interest’ in 22 y/o explained

According to Kickgh, Wolverhampton Wanderers have ‘expressed interest’ in Emmanuel Boateng and may have to battle clubs in Belgium, Denmark and Italy to procure his signature.

Kickgh say the 22-year-old has been ‘recommended’ by senior recruitment lead Ben Wrigglesworth, but he may have to be immediately loaned out if signed due to ‘work permit issues’.

Which club did Wolves sign Raul Jimenez from?

Boateng joined Hapoel Tel Aviv from Aduana Stars in 2018 and has gone on to make 42 appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals and making three assists.

The Ghanaian midfielder is a regular under Nir Klinger and has impressed enough to attract the attention of a host of clubs, but he will have a difficult task getting playing time over Ruben Neves, Romain Saiss, Joao Moutinho, Bruno Jordao and Leander Dendoncker next season.

Wolves are on the hunt for a new addition to the engine room and have been linked with Morgan Sanson, John McGinn, Franck Kessie, Joao Palhinha and William Carvalho, but it remains to be seen who they’ll bring in this summer.

Boateng’s market value is £270k and Hapoel’s most expensive sale is Baruch Dego (£3.6m to Maccabi Netanya), so the 22-year-old won’t break the bank.
