Nuno Espirito Santo could be without Morgan Gibbs-White against Sheffield United as the 19-year-old is an injury doubt and ‘will be assessed’ ahead of Sunday’s meeting. Premier Injuries have given Gibbs-White just a 25% chance of returning in time to face the Blades, but a late fitness decision could be made over the weekend.
The England u21 international has made 10 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring one goal. Gibbs-White’s last outing in a Wolves shirt came in their 2-1 win over Slovan Bratislava (October 24). He’s missed five of his side’s last six games ever since, however.
Gibbs-White wasn’t in the matchday squad for Wolves’ 1-1 draw with Newcastle United (October 27), but he was an unused substitute in their 1-1 draw with Arsenal (November 2).
However, the 19-year-old suffered a setback in his recovery from a back injury and was left out of Wolves’ 1-0 win over Slovan Bratislava (November 7), 2-1 win over Aston Villa (November 10), 2-1 win over Bournemouth (November 23) and 3-3 draw with Braga (November 28).
With Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho at their disposal, Wolves have more than enough quality to cope without Gibbs-White.
