The second phase of the £18 million redevelopment of Molineux will be delayed.

Wolves have decided to delay work to the Steve Bull stand which was scheduled for the end of this season, in favour of spending the cash on the club`s new football academy and training ground at Compton Park.

“The stadium redevelopment was always to be constructed in phases, each to be taken on its merits at the time.’ Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey said.

He continued: “The board felt that if we didn`t proceed with the academy redevelopment we would never be able to revisit it, whereas the stadium was always planned to be a long-term project,”

“In view of the financial commitment to the academy we have decided to postpone the Steve Bull Stand development for now, particularly as this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to redevelop the club`s training ground and academy.”

Vital Wolves Comment: The development should be £6 million well spent in my view.

The proposals and plans look excellent and will be a huge benefit to the club, investing in the infrastructure of the club, will benefit us in the future and will also be a useful tool to enticing players to the club in the short term.
