Saturday’s disputed opening goal against Luton Town has officially been credited to midfielder Michael Kightly.

After studying video footage assistant manager Ian Evans had this to say.

‘Because of the angle of the camera, it’s very difficult to tell, even with the film slowed down.

‘However, I could see that Gary didn’t get a touch but whether or not the defender did is virtually impossible to say.

‘The main thing is, whether it brushed the defender’s head or not, the trajectory of the ball didn’t change.

‘So, after watching it a few times, there’s no doubt in my mind that it’s Michael’s goal.’

Michael Kightly now sits one goal behind Seyi George Olofinjana, currently on 7, as the clubs top scorer.
