Injury boost for Nuno with Wolves striker ‘set to return’ against Watford

Patrick Cutrone is ‘set to return’ for Wolves ahead of Wednesday’s meeting with Watford, according to BBC Sport. The 21-year-old missed Sunday’s 1-0 defeat to Liverpool due to illness, but he’s reportedly made a full recovery and should make the matchday squad.

Cutrone has made 24 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring and creating seven goals. The Italian international has racked up less than 300 minutes of Premier League football, however, and has hardly featured in the last two months.

Nuno has given Cutrone just 13 minutes of top-flight action since starting him in Wolves’ 1-1 draw with Southampton (October 19). He frequently names the striker on the bench but rarely brings him on. Cutrone has contributed a goal every 123 minutes for Wolves, but he doesn’t have his manager’s backing.

Fiorentina have been linked with a loan move for the 21-year-old with an option to buy. Various reports say Cutrone could make the switch in January. It didn’t work out in England, but a return to Italy could lead to a turnaround in form.
