Ikeme on trial at Boro

Carl Ikeme has gone on a week long trial at Middlesbrough, with a view to a loan deal if things go well.

Ikeme had forced his way back into reckoning at Wolves, but could still be third choice behind Wayne Hennessey and Dorus de Vries.

‘I’ve been speaking with Mick (McCarthy) for a while about this possibility,’ Tony Mowbray told mfc.co.uk this afternoon.

‘He’s a boy I saw a lot of when I was at West Brom and Mick speaks very highly of him.

‘The idea is that if we like him and he likes us, then on Monday we could take him on loan.’
