Stephen Hunt might be a little frustrated at having to wait to start his Wolves career due to injury, but his focus remains on supplying a good service for striker Kevin Doyle.

The pair obviously know each other well from their time at Reading and the Republic of Ireland and all Wolves fans are hoping that knowledge will enable Hunt to perform immediately when he returns from a foot injury.

‘With Doyler, if he gets the right service then he’ll get in double figures.’ Stephen Hunt told the Sunday Mercury.

He added: ‘He’s strong, he was good last season up on his own when Wolves went 4-5-1 but he needs the service as well and hopefully we can give it to him, along with a few others – Fletcher, Andy Keogh and Sylvan.

‘You’ve got to get the ball in the box and in the right areas, he’s got to make the right runs and the players in midfield have got to find the strikers, that’s our job.’

Vital Wolves Comment: We’re fairly confident Stephen Hunt will prove to be a good signing.

We certainly have had to wait long enough since the first rumours that we wanted to take him from Hull last season.
