“Hope this is not true”, “Not the Wolves way” – Many Wolves fans are not happy with latest report

Many Wolves fans on Twitter are not happy with the reports that the club is part of an eight-team group trying to ensure Manchester City stay out of the Champions League.

With Manchester City being banned from the competition for the past two years due to ‘serious breaches’ of Financial Fair Play rules, they plan on appealing the decision, but the coronavirus outbreak has meant the hearing has been delayed, the Express and Star report.

This opens the possibility to the situation where the hearing cannot be heard in time for next season, which could mean that the club will have another season of being in Europe’s premier competition.

The Daily Mail claims that Wolves are part of an eight-team group which have submitted a joint application to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to try and prevent City from playing in Europe while the appeal is ongoing.

Every team from within the top 10 are involved, apart from Pep Guardiola’s side themselves, as well as Sheffield United.

Considering Wolves are flirting with the Champions League spaces, the decision could be the difference in qualifying for the competition next season.

Nevertheless, when Joe Edwards from the Express and Star tweeted about the incident, fans were not happy about the reports.

Many questioned why they would get involved with such a decision, while another even said it wasn’t the Wolves way.
