Many Wolves fans on Twitter are not happy with the reports that the club is part of an eight-team group trying to ensure Manchester City stay out of the Champions League.
With Manchester City being banned from the competition for the past two years due to ‘serious breaches’ of Financial Fair Play rules, they plan on appealing the decision, but the coronavirus outbreak has meant the hearing has been delayed, the Express and Star report.
This opens the possibility to the situation where the hearing cannot be heard in time for next season, which could mean that the club will have another season of being in Europe’s premier competition.
The Daily Mail claims that Wolves are part of an eight-team group which have submitted a joint application to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to try and prevent City from playing in Europe while the appeal is ongoing.
Every team from within the top 10 are involved, apart from Pep Guardiola’s side themselves, as well as Sheffield United.
Is Raul Jimenez good enough for Real Madrid?
Yes definitely
No he's not
Not sure
Considering Wolves are flirting with the Champions League spaces, the decision could be the difference in qualifying for the competition next season.
Nevertheless, when Joe Edwards from the Express and Star tweeted about the incident, fans were not happy about the reports.
Many questioned why they would get involved with such a decision, while another even said it wasn’t the Wolves way.
Here are some of the responses below…
Not the sort of thing we should be associated with in my opinion

I sincerely hope that this is not true. To deny the City fans and players Champions League football is wrong.
Fine the club, ban the people concerned but NOT the players or fans.— Glyn P. (@GeezerGlyn) March 25, 2020
Really don’t like this if true. Sheff Utd have had the right approach and stayed out of it.

We should leave it to the powers that be. Tbh reminds me of when all the championship teams moaned about us.

Why are we getting involved in this for?

We’ve gained a lot of admirers, dont ruin it— Dave (@Davetcb) March 25, 2020
As a long standing city fan. I have seen so much vile come my clubs way. All I can say is thank you for these unbiased comments, it gives me faith there are still real football fans out there.
Gives one faith that the true football supporter is not envious, jealous or underhanded apparently like the people who run our football clubs with the notable exception of Sheffield United. We all know the old.elite want to keep the trough for themselves and conspired to have FFP rules stripped of any mention of debt …..I wonder why?
Well said Wolves fans.
Worry about your own team. You will allways have my respect
If City hadn’t have tried to get us investigated when we first had Mendes involved along with the other clubs like dirty leeds, vile, Cardiff etc, i would agree but has they say what comes around goes around.
If and i say if they have broken the rules having got away with it once then i agree with my club.
it’s a disgrace to the epl
clubs protesting for our ban to stand
thank you Sheffield united
more respect to the bottom ten
Thank you Wolves fans, City it appears may have fought fire with fire over Financial Foul Play but the normal legal process is being followed and that always means an appeal before sentence.
Really not something Wolves should be taking an interest in.
NOT the way we should behave.
