Steve Coppell, Adrian Boothroyd, Paul Ince.

What do they all have in common?

Not where they played, or who they played for, but where they studied. Warwick University to be precise.

Paul is by now half way through a week long course in applied Football Management at the same establishment where both Coppell and Boothroyd graduated with flying colours, setting them on the way to The Premiership.

Both are of the new school of thought within the game, that the screamers and shouters, the tea cup kicking, water bottle throwing blood vessell bursting managers of old are a dying breed, and if you want to get ahead in the management game, you must be able to keep your own, when all around you, others are losing theirs.

Which goes against the grass roots feeling at Wolves, that what the club needs is exactly the opposite.

Love him or hate him, no one can doubt the passion of Neil Warnock, and there are many who feel that kind of inspiration is needed at Molineux, if not that kind of man.

The general feeling has been that is what The Guv’nor would provide. Here at Olofin Towers, we beg to differ.

Paul has already stated he would one day love to manage Wolverhampton Wanderers, and this weeks course at Warwick, and the fact he is studying for his coaching badges brings that wish a little closer to eventual fruition.

But don’t bet your house on the Guv’nor’s combative midfield style being moved from the pitch, to the managers dugout.
