Joao Moutinho and Rui Patricio are Wolverhampton Wanderers’ highest earners by some distance.
The Portuguese internationals take home a salary of £5.2m (£100k-per-week) each, which is more than Raul Jimenez (£2.1m-a-year) and Adama Traore (£2.2m-a-year) combined.
It’s twice the salary of Ruben Neves too, but how does it compare with the rest of the Wolves squad?
Based on the findings, the average first-team wage at Wolves is £2.1m-a-year/£41k-per-week. Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, Leicester City, Crystal Palace and Everton all have at least one player earning more than Moutinho & Patricio.
And while Wolves are into the last-32 of the Europa League along with Arsenal and Manchester United, it’s worth noting that Nuno’s men only have two players on more than £100k-per-week compared to Arsenal’s 10 and United’s 12. Wolves are achieving great levels of success on a more modest budget.
