They say that strikers thrive on confidence. And Freddy Eastwood is no exception to that rule. After scoring in each of his two competitive Wolves matches, he flew out to join the Wales squad for their friendly against Bulgaria and he can`t wait to try and cement his International future.

‘I cannot wait, this is a great chance to boost my career and coming so soon after my move to Wolves, things are going really well for me.’ he said earlier this week to the E&S

‘I have scored goals at every level I have played and I believe I can do the same when I step up a level to international football.’

Neither goal scored for Wolves will win goal of the season, but they were the kind of goals Wanderers simply weren`t scoring last term.

The ability to be in the right place at the right time is something that cannot be taught, and Eastwood has that striker`s sixth sense that has impressed John Toshack enough to make the step up in quality.

And whilst the chance to work with a bona fide Welsh legend, who once fired Cardiff City to victory over Real Madrid may excite him, there is one small regret about the timing of his call up.

‘When I met the lads last season I was particularly happy to talk to Ryan Giggs.” He said. “I`m a big Manchester United fan and he has always been a hero of mine. It`s sad that he has retired now from international football which means I won`t get the chance to play alongside him.’
