If Wolverhampton Wanderers Head Coach Kenny Jackett was considering relying on the striking instinct of Leon Clarke he may have since re-evaluated.

The 29-year-old striker had the best chance of the game in the FA Cup tie at Fulham.

The ball fell to him, not more than ten yards out and he managed to put the ball wide of the target, in what was one of the howlers of the FA Cup third round.

“It came at him very quick,” Jackett told the Birmingham Mail.

He continued: “We would have all loved him to put it in and I`m sure he would have, but that`s forwards and you have to take those on the chin when they come.”

With Jackett opening looking to bolster his attacking options, Clarke’s miss can only have strengthened those thoughts for Jackett.

But despite the stalemate, Jackett was pleased: “I thought we played well and I was pleased with how we played. We created numerous chances, their keeper made two terrific saves.
