Wolverhampton Wanderers headed into a key period of the season over Christmas and came out with maximum points.

On Boxing Day Wolves travelled to Watford, who were sixth in the Championship, Wolves won 1-0 with the three points away from home cutting the deficit to the teams in the play-off places.

48 hours later we were at Molineux to face third placed Brentford, once again the three points was won and we climbed up the table to 8th and back in contention for back-to-back promotions, only three points off of the play-off places.

“All a sudden we are looking up the league, thinking of the play-offs, Six points in three days over the Christmas period makes it nicer; it is a busy time, but everyone is in the same boat.’ Wolves defender Richard Stearman told the Shropshire Star.

He continued: “It is tough on the legs, but I think we have shown we can handle it and come through with two wins.

“It has put us right back in the mix. We have had a good four games now and all of a sudden November is behind us and we are looking up.

“It sums the Championship up.

“You put a string of results together and you fly back up the league.
