Sylvan Ebanks-Blake was the top-scoring player of the week and fired himself into contention for top spot in the Actim Index, the official player rating system of the Coca-Cola Championship.

The Wolves hotshot earned 56 points with a goal in both of the games against Cardiff and Coventry to help him climb two places into third overall.

It leaves the former Manchester United man 36 points behind overall leader Liam Lawrence of Stoke with just one game remaining – as former club Plymouth visit Molineux on Sunday.

Ebanks-Blake must also reel in West Brom striker Kevin Phillips, who sits seven points ahead in second place.

Analysis of all Championship games is taking place throughout the season and so far the top five Wolves players are:

Player, Ranking, Position Ranking, Index Score

Sylvan Ebanks-Blake, 3, 2nd – Ranked Striker, 643
Wayne Hennessey, 11, 1st – Ranked Goalkeeper, 567
Kevin Foley, 37, 9th – Ranked Defender, 481
Andrew Keogh, 93, 23rd – Ranked Striker, 410
Karl Henry, 98, 28th – Ranked Defender, 403

The Actim Index is calculated using a unique mathematical formula that rates each player`s contribution be it goals, shots, passes, dribbles, tackles, crosses, saves, clearances, blocks, interceptions, assists, clean sheets, time on the pitch or number of points gained by the team with marks deducted for red and yellow cards.
