Wolves legend Steve Bull has come out and said that Raul Jimenez does not need to move to win silverware, as he can win it where he is right now.

While one of the club’s greatest ever legends ever is probably not the fairest person in this argument, it is still a huge message of support from the club’s all-time top goalscorer.

With the coronavirus outbreak, there has been a huge amount of doubt about how and when this season will finish, and in turn, when the transfer window will be opening.

April 30 is the date where the Premier League is supposedly meant to restart, but given it is impossible to predict exactly how everything will be at that date, it is very hard to tell whether that date has any substance.

Is Raul Jimenez good enough for Real Madrid?

Yes definitely

Yes definitely

No he's not

No he's not

Not sure

Whenever that transfer market does come, Wolves are going to have a job on their hands in keeping Raul Jimenez.

Recent reports suggest that not only Manchester United and Arsenal are interested, but more worryingly Zinedine Zidane’s Real Madrid, who might just have a bit too much clout to turn down.

Nevertheless, legend Steve Bull wrote in the Shropshire Star that he can’t think of any reason why the 28-year-old would want to leave – even with interest from the most successful club in world football.

After all, I cannot see any reason why he would want to leave,” Bull wrote.

“Jimenez has scored 22 goals in 44 games in all competitions this season and that is unbelievable – scary.

“What has really struck me, too, is when he has not been at his best but still managed to find the net.

“At Tottenham, for example, he had a very quiet game but then came up with a piece of brilliance to win it towards the end – something we will all remember for many years to come.”

It shows how far we have come when our players are being associated with such teams.

“The ultimate question, though, is whether Jimenez can fulfil his ambitions – winning silverware – at Wolves?

“For me at least, the answer to that is an emphatic yes.”

Bull’s words are hardly likely to be an assurance for fans, other than that he backs the club fully to win something in the future.

You can, of course, see why any team would want such a player, even if Real do currently own Karim Benzema as well as talents such as Luka Jovic.

So far this season, the forward has managed to score 13 goals in 29 Premier League games and 22 in 43 in all competitions.

Despite this and all of Bull’s words, it is hard to see exactly how the player and club would react to such a situation as it is just hypothetical at this moment in time. But it’s hard to tell any player that they can’t go to Real Madrid, let alone one who is 28 and has talked about wanting to return to Spain one day.
