The Pepineros are in the fourth-tier of Spanish football (Tercera División), below the Primera Division, Segunda Division and Segunda Division B. Ruddy will hope to impress Luis Cembranos to earn a promotion to the first-team or put himself in the shop window.

The Scottish goalkeeper hasn’t played football for an entire year, so he’s jumped at the chance for minutes, signing a short-term deal at an amateur club until June 2020. Ruddy is yet to make an appearance for his new club due to the Covid-19 pandemic, however, so his future is already uncertain at the Anexo de Butarque.

CD Leganes B have a decision to make whether to extend his contract or release him this summer. If Ruddy leaves, Transfermarkt say he will be searching for his ninth club in four years – Bury (2014-2016), Wolves (2016 – 2019), Oldham Athletic (2017/18), Ayr United (2018), FC Jumila (2018/19), UD Sanse (2019), Ross County (2019/20), CD Leganes B (2020).

Ruddy hasn’t had a lot of luck in his career since leaving Wolves, so he’ll be desperate to settle next season.
