On Wednesday, Wolverhampton Wanderers confirmed that we had seen two more youngsters depart prior to the close of the European transfer window at the beginning of this week. Sylvain Deslandes and Connor Johnson have moved on season long loan spells to Plovdiv and Kilmarnock respectively.

22-year-old Deslandes has taken in previous loan spells with Bury, Portsmouth and FC Jumilla since joining us from Caen back in the summer of 2015, and having made his debut back in August 2015 in our EFL Cup tie against Barnet, he has made eight appearances in total.

The loan deal to the Bulgarian First League side is a loan for 2019/20 but they hold a buy option on the deal.

Fellow defender Johnson spent the 2018/19 campaign with League One side Walsall, making eleven starting appearances, scoring once. The 21-year-old has headed to Scotland for his spell with Kilmarnock, but that is a straight season long loan, so presumably, we’ll see the 21-year-old return next summer and you can only hope our former Under 23 skipper has a great spell to bring his development on further.
