Plenty of Wolves fans have reacted furiously on Twitter after hearing quotes from youngster Pedro Neto.
Within an interview with Portuguese newspaper O Jogo (translated by Sport Witness), the youngster discussed his ambitions – and it seems his honesty has disgruntled a lot of the Wolves faithful.
After admitting that he tries to imitate Cristiano Ronaldo, he was asked whether he had any ambitions to join bigger teams within the Premier League, to which his response was brutally honest.
He said: “I’m in a big club that already offers me a lot. I want to continue here, but I intend to take the leap. I want to reach top clubs to win titles or compete in the Champions League.
“There is nothing better than competing in the Champions League, the Europa League, the Euros or a World Cup. I want to try everything.”
While the interview was in Portuguese, there is the possibility that his meaning hasn’t translated perfectly into the English language, but it is an indication of his ambition.
The fan account on Twitter @TalkingWolves shared the youngster’s quotes, to which there were many responses.
Despite there being some who backed the 20-year-old, there was a big contingency of supporters who were clearly livid with the player, with some telling him to “apologise” and others calling him a “snake”.

Since joining the club from Lazio for a fee of around £16.5m (Transfermarkt), he hasn’t been able to have a huge impact, though he is getting more chances as the season goes.
He has made 35 appearances in total this season, with 20 being from the bench, contributing four goals and as many assists.
What a ridiculous article – it’s so inflammatory! All young players have ambition and no players have the kind of loyalty to a club that they once had. Quoting from a small number of fans to write that kind of nonsense is gutter journalism.
Tommy Joice that well known sports writer, not. Please try harder in your work this is a non starter story.Neto is a young talented footballer a star for the future what is wrong with ambition. If he reaches his future prospect he will make Wolves a good profit when he moves to a bigger club .
I could not add any more to the positive comments. The lad has ambition. It is up to Wolves to help him achieve that.He will not need a ‘bigger club’.He is not like a player a little while ago who did’t care as long as he got paid. That player did not last long.Keep playing well Pedro I like what Isee.
