Mick McCarthy may have to consider an offer from Everton for striker Kevin Doyle ahead of the transfer deadline if reports are correct.

Sky Sports have reported that Everton gaffer David Moyes could target Doyle before the transfer deadline window slams shut tomorrow.

Moyes has been a long standing admirer of Doyle for a long time, but missed out on him when we first signed him from Reading, while we have rebuffed any approaches since then, most notably last year when he was heavily linked with another move for him.

This season the former record transfer has been a bit hit and miss and has been forced to play second fiddle behind Steven Fletcher.

He has made just one start in our last six games, with the 28-year-old scoring just twice all season.

Vital Wolves Comment: It’s a tough one, if we can sell him and use the money for another striker of higher quality then obviously it has to be considered, but if we cannot replace him, then what’s the point?
