With Steve McClaren’s resignation from Nottingham Forest, Michael Kightly’s proposed loan move has collapsed.

Officially the deal is on hold but as it was the ‘wally with a brolly’ who made the approach, it would seem unlikely that whoever replaces McClaren at Forest will have the same ideas.

Which leaves Kites back in limbo as apparently there have been no further enquiries.

“Half-a-dozen games would really benefit him. There was nobody else, just an enquiry from Forest and Michael said if they came in he`d consider it.” our Mick told Birmingham Post.

So where else would be suitable?

Over on the Vital Wolves Forum, all4divisions suggested that a move to the Scottish Premier League would be advantageous.

‘Bound to make any player more confident. And secondly, if he can’t make it there, he can’t make it anywhere…as Frank Sinatra never said.’ he added.

SUPERSPARKES thought a possible link-up with Andy Keogh at Leeds could be an idea, but our friends over at Vital Coventry think that they would be the ideal destination.

‘A local move, a hungry player and someone with the creative spark in wide areas that City have lacked this season, to this writer at least it would seem like a deal worth pursuing.’ their editor wrote.
