Wolves without three players ahead of Manchester United clash

|

According to BBC Sport, Wolverhampton Wanderers will be ‘without’ three players for Wednesday’s FA Cup third-round replay with Manchester United – Diogo Jota (leg), Bruno Jordao (ankle), Willy Boly (fibula).

Victory for the Midlands outfit will book them a place in the fourth round against Tranmere Rovers or Watford.

Jota suffered a dead leg in Wolves’ 2-1 defeat to Watford (January 1, 2020) after a heavy challenge from Christian Kabasele. The 23-year-old missed his side’s 1-1 draw with Newcastle United (January 11) and isn’t expected to return until next week.

Jordao suffered an ankle ligament injury in Wolves’ EFL Cup victory over Reading (September 25) and has endured a setback in his recovery a month later. He’s made just two appearances for Wolves all season. The 21-year-old was expected to have returned by now, but it appears he’s still not available for selection.

Boly has been out of action since October after fracturing his fibula. The 28-year-old’s last appearance came in Wolves’ 2-1 win over Slovan Bratislava (October 24). Boly has recently returned to grass and is kicking a ball, however, so he could be back for Wolves sooner rather than later.

How will Wolves get on in the replay?
