Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Donovan Wilson has been named December’s Premier League 2 Player of the Month.

The 20 year old has was nominated after scoring a second half hattrick on the game against Southampton just ahead of Christmas as Scott Sellars’ side came from two nil down to win four two.

This is his first win after being nominated a number of times previously.

Wilson takes the PL2 Player of the Month award ahead of two other contenders.

Speaking to the Official Site he explained.

‘I`m really happy, I`m buzzing to get the award. I`ve been nominated a couple of times but this is the first time I`ve won so I`m really happy to win it now. I`m buzzing to get my first hat-trick this season against Southampton, with the team being 2-0 down it`s a good turnaround so I`m happy. I think technically it has helped me develop a lot. There`s a lot of technical players in the league so it`s helped my game a lot over the years. As a striker, it`s always good to score goals, so when your scoring goals you get more confident, you play better and it helps you a lot.’
