New Wolves skipper Roger Johnson is saying all the right things as the club prepares for another season in the Premier League.

The next step on route to the opening day of the season against Blackburn is Saturday’s game against Real Zaragoza.

The new captain who will wear the 14 shirt next season and he will lead the team out for the final pre-season friendly with one eye on the coming months, believing that the best is yet to come from him.

‘I’m supposedly peaking now – they say defenders peak from the age of 28 to 32 – so hopefully all four of those will be in the Premier League.

‘I definitely see Wolves progressing in that time. Johnson told Wolves Official Website.

He added: ‘The manager has done well to keep the best players here and he’s brought more in.

‘I’m sure he will bring in another one or maybe two.

‘Off the pitch, the stands are going up and the club is moving in the right direction so I only see better times ahead.
