Wolverhampton Wanderers look likely to have to wait to complete any possible business with Leicester City for striker Chris Wood.

Following their Championship winning promotion run to the Premier League, it would seem that 22-year-old Chris Wood is surplus to requirements at Leicester.

He made 29 appearances last season scoring 8 goals, but he’s mainly been limited to substitute appearances.

With additions likely for their assault on the Premier League with £1million already bid for Cardiff striker Fraizer Campbell and enquiries made for Brighton’s Leonardo Ulloa, Wood is only going to drift further down the pecking order.

However, Leicester are unwilling to let players leave before they wrap up deals for new signings leaving Kenny Jackett playing a waiting game.

But that’s unlikely to deter Jackett, as the Wolves Head Coach has previously worked with Woods at Millwall.

During a three-month loan spell towards the end of 2012, Woods scored 11 goals in 19 appearances.
