Good things come to those who wait and the good thing on this occasion will be the signing of Birmingham defender Roger Johnson.

Johnson has been at Molineux today and according to the Express & Star he has agreed personal terms.

The 28-year-old defender just has to pass his medical before he can officially be unveiled as Mick McCarthy latest capture.

The fee is reportedly a notch under £7million, while Johnson will become our highest paid player on £40,000-a-week.

The E&S have also reported that we turned down the chance to sign Jonathan Woodgate who has now signed for Stoke.

He reportedly wanted £20,000-a-week plus £10,000-a-week appearance money! Which unsurprisingly we declined considering his fitness record.

Vital Wolves Comment: I think everyone will be happy with this signing. He has experience while isn’t over the hill. His wages are high, but to add that bit of quality sometimes you have to break the bank.

Lets just hope he is worth it!
