The council have given the green light for Wolves to go ahead with plans for our training ground expansion.

The £50 million development will see Wolves training ground expanded, which is the first step towards the planned “world-class” football academy.

The scheme received a few objections due to area being on green belt land in Compton Park, however he council’s planning committee earlier this week opted to back the plans, as they thought the benefits to the city “outweighed” those concerns.

As part of the development, the indoor academy arena at Aldersley Leisure Village will be handed over to Wolves Community Trust.

St Edmund`s Catholic School will be relocated with part of the funding coming from Wolves, Wolverhampton University will also leave the site.

Around 400 jobs will be created by the construction.
