It was thought the waiting game for Wolverhampton Wanderers was over, Kenny Jackett had finally signed a new striker.

It proved around tenth time lucky for Wolves Head Coach Jackett to bring a new striker to Molinuex.

Jackett had worked his way down his long list of potential striking targets.

Having lost out on Callum Wilson, Chris Wood, Max Clayton, Andy Delort, Patrick Bamford, Danny Graham and Emmanuel Mayuka.

Next on the list was 30-year-old Kei Kamara until of course work permit problems delayed a move for him.

So Jackett moved in to the loan market and signed Yannick Sagbo on a emergency loan until January.

The 26-year-old Ivory Coast international joined Hull from French side Evian last year where he had scored 16 league goals in 68 appearances.

Last season for Hull in the Premier League he scored 2 goals in 28 league appearances, but this season he has been restricted to just one Capital One Cup appearance.

We all hoped that he would be the final bit of jigsaw that Jackett was looking for, even if it was only on a temporary basis.

But after just six weeks and four appearances, totalling 76 minutes of football he’s packed up and gone back to Hull with his loan deal cancelled.

A Wolves flop if ever there was one.

Back to that not-so-shortlist Kenny.
