Wolves start off with a win

A fine win for Wolves on their return to the Championship. The sending off of Norwich left back Olsson was probably the telling moment with the impressive Van La Parra setting up the winner from that side shortly afterwards.

Roared on by the home crowd Wolves were close to going ahead in the first minute when David Edwards turned a cross from the left just over the bar. Wolves were the better team in the first half hour with Dicko looking sharp up front and Van La Parra causing plenty of problems on the right. Olsson was booked for hacking down the Dutch winger midway through the half.

Sako finally made his mark on the game late in the half and his cross was just intercepted before it found Dicko and then the winger had a shot deflected for a corner. Then soon after the break a great Sako cross just eluded Dicko.

But Norwich through good possession had come into the game late in the first half and they looked an increasing threat in the second half with Surman having a shot blocked before Grabban bought a save from Ikeme.

But Olsson got a second yellow for another foul on Van La Parra and 4 minutes later the Dutch winger produced a superb cross that saw Edwards head in the only goal of the game.

Norwich continued to have good possession but were unable to create a clear opening and Sako should have hit a second for Wolves late on but he shot too close to Ruddy after being set up by a Dicko.
