Over the weekend, reports in France surfaced linking Wolverhampton Wanderers with having a possible interest in SCO Angers striker Stephane Bahoken.

Bahoken only joined Angers in the summer of 2018 after moving on as a free agent from RC Strasbourg and with over 100 games under his belt, he did return 23 goals. Last season in 32 Ligue 1 appearances for his new side, the 27-year-old contributed 11 goals for them and the Cameroonian centre forward does offer some versatility, as he’s capable of playing on the wings as well.

Contracted up until the summer of 2022, he’s also been linked with a potential move to fellow Premier League side Leicester City.

Outlet L’Equipe seem to be the initial source here, but they have said that we have now scheduled a meeting with his club and with the player out in Egypt for the Africa Cup of Nations tournament, I can only assume that the Egypt setting is to meet both club and player.

No fee is mentioned, but given what I can tell about the player this doesn’t seem like it’s the kind of move we’d make, even if we all know an extra option at the top of the pitch wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing as we prepare for the campaign ahead.
