With another dull and boring international break in progress, Wolverhampton Wanderers fans can occupy their time with another round of endless, and largely pointless, transfer rumours, and having been very strongly linked with having an interest in AC Milan’s Franck Kessie in August, the rumour mill has recycled his name and suggested that we will go back in for the 22-year-old when the January window reopens.

Journalist Claims Wolves Agree Deal With AC Milan But Player Not So Keen

Back in August, it was suggested that we had reportedly struck a deal with AC Milan for his services but the player himself wasn’t keen owing to the personal terms we had offered. News went quiet for a few weeks and we then saw claims that we’d gone in for him again late on as the deadline approach, but again couldn’t complete the deal in time.

On Monday, Sky Sports stated pretty confidently that they believed we had retained an interest in the Ivory Coast international, and with Milan still keen to offload him, presumably there may be more wriggle room in the transfer fee come the New Year which would naturally give a bit more wriggle room on the personal terms front.

With only one start to his name so far since his loan at the San Siro became permanent over the summer, the player himself may well have one eye on greater game time which should help grease things through – if we do actually have a genuine interest.
