Bakary Sako missed out on the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month Award for October.
Sako had scored in each of his four October games – an impressive return for a someone who is not playing as an out and out striker.
His free-kick in the 3-3 draw at Millwall was the highlight for many, while his skilful driving runs also helped create chances for others.
But in the eyes of the panel, that was not enough to take the gong, with that going to former Wolverhampton Wanderers transfer target Callum Wilson.
The former Coventry striker had been a target for some time.
But rather than sign a 21 year old in hot form, we signed Leon Clarke instead.
Then in the summer, we pulled out of the race and he eventually signed for Bournemouth, where in October alone he scored five goals in four games as he continues to make the seamless step up from League 1.
He was also called up to the England Under-21 squad yesterday.
But still, we’ve got Yannick Sagbo, on loan which makes up for everything.
