Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Matt Doherty isn’t making strides following our return to the Premier League after last season’s Championship title success, he’s making leaps and following last weekend’s 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace where he scored the solitary goal of the game, he was always going to come in for plenty of praise for his showing.
With the game seeing us take all three points to lift us into seventh place in the top flight table, the right wing back once again earned his spurs and even though we can all pick out moments – who can’t – his consistency is to be admired and his call-up for this October window to the Republic of Ireland squad once again, is completely deserved.
With two caps to his name for their senior side after youth caps in his career, he’ll be hopeful of adding to that given his recent form and fans couldn’t be more delighted with the way he’s stepping up the so-called big league and improving as a player. At 26 years of age he can certainly show further improvement as well.
Buzzing for Doherty to get his goal today. He’s come on leaps and bounds under Nuno, the perfect player for RWB in this system, he’s been brilliant so far #wwfc
