That mass exodus of players that has yet to come at Molineux? Well prepare yourself.

Just because we are in a strong financial position to many clubs that are relegated from the Premier League, never assume that means we will hold on to our best players.

Modern day footballers know all too well that this is a short career and their loyalty rarely extends past themselves.

In the past week we’ve seen Michael Kightly leave Wolves for a return to the Premier League with Stoke and Steven Fletcher hand in a transfer request to try and apply pressure on us to sell him.

Sunderland want to take Fletcher away from Molineux and the Scottish striker clearly wants to leave, but without an acceptable bid on the table we’re all left in limbo.

Same applies to Matt Jarvis, who as yet hasn’t handed in a transfer request, but if we continue to reject bids for him, don’t bet against it happening.

Christophe Berra has also handed in a transfer request, while Adam Hammill has also been put up for sale.

Dorus De Vries and Ronald Zubar have also been subjects of transfer bids and with so many players unfocused on the job at hand it’s hardly surprising we needed penalties to get past Aldershot in the Capital One Cup on Saturday.

Wolves boss StÃ¥le Solbakken told the Express & Star: “We have to be honest and say everything`s a little unsettled, It would be stupid to say everything is fine because it`s not.”

He continued: “We`re not giving players away for fun, We need to make sure we`re not on the back foot for the next three weeks.

“It`s also a tactical thing – do you buy before you sell or do you have to sell before you buy? Is that the gamble?”
