Despite Wolves not underestimating bottom side Stevenage, Wolverhampton Wanderers still failed to come away from the game with all three points.

It was a real chance to nail home our advantage at the top of the League One table and really push forward to seal promotion at the earliest opportunity and concentrate on the glory of winning the League One title.

Finishing in the top two and sealing automatic promotion however is the only aim of importance.

And a point is a point, and that single point has pushed us to 11 points clear over third placed Leyton Orient.

Such has been their downfall though that, Rotherham United are now in the mix for that third place position. Rotherham hold a match in hand against Sheffield United, if they win that they would take third place and narrow the gap to ourselves to 9 points.

With 6 games to go, having 3 wins in hand over the chasing pack should mean that Wolves can avoid an end of season wobble.

But nothing should be taken for granted at this stage of the season.

“To get the amount of points we`ve got so far has been very good, The position is very good, and in the last half a dozen games now we need to gather all our energy and make sure we focus and capitalise on the good position we`re in.’ Wolves Head Coach Kenny Jackett told the Express & Star.

He continued: “We`ve worked very hard this season to get into this position.

“In terms of our performance we want to get our full energy and sparkle back for Saturday to do well against Peterborough.

“We`ve known we`ve needed that high points total all season and it certainly hasn`t been easy.
