Wolves hear what price they will have to pay for long-term target – report

|

Wolves and Franck Kessie seem to be perenially linked – and even during these coronavirus outbreak times, the rumours continue to keep going.

AC Milan fan website Sepre Milan has stated that – according to the latest reports from Calciomercato.com – Milan have set an asking price of €25m for the Ivorian international.

The outlet state that with the club needing a cash injection in the summer, the 22-year-old could be one of those exiled and €25m would be enough to seriously tempt them into selling.

Wolves aren’t the only team who are said to be interested, though, with Arsenal, Newcastle, West Ham all allegedly interested in snapping him up, per Sepre Milan’s report.

Despite the player having a bit of an inconsistent year thus far, there could still be a good signing there considering his age and capabilities.

While central midfield is hardly on the top of Wolves’ wishlist – the Portuguese pairing of Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho is one of the team’s key components – there is definitely space for another central midfielder.

Should Wolverhampton Wanderers sign Franck Kessie?

Yes, he would be a good addition

Nope - we should spend our money elsewhere

Currently in the squad, the club only has Joao Moutinho, Ruben Neves, Leander Dendoncker, Romain Saiss and Morgan Gibbs-White who can really player there – and Moutinho is now 33.

Franck Kessie’s poor season has been mirrored by his club as they sit seventh in the league with 36 points after 26 games. With 12 still to be played, they are 27 points behind Juventus who are top of the league, and they are 12 points behind Atalanta in the final Champions League spot, and the team from Bergamo have a game in hand.

Considering he left Atalanta in 2017 for the club – who have now qualified for the final eight of the Champions League – he may be regretting the move as Milan look miles off their level at this stage.

Perhaps a move away from Italy can be what he needs to get that spark back. From his 23 league appearances this season, WhoScored’s algorithm believe he only averages 6.55/10 per game – the 17th highest average from all of the Milan players this season.
