Wolverhampton Wanderers youngster Ed Francis has experienced rather a dramatic rise at the club since coming into our Under 23 setup from Manchester City last January.

In his first six months at the club he’s gone on to skipper our side to the League Title back in April, and he’s one of the young lads that head coach Nuno Espirito Santo is now taking a closer look at during pre-season as he’s joined the group out in China for our tour.

The 19-year-old defender also lifted the Hong Kong Soccer Sevens shield over the summer, so he’s certainly begun impressing and showing why we brought him in last transfer window.

Ahead of the squad flying out over the weekend for the Premier League Asia Trophy pre-season buildup, the youngster reflected on his pre-season involvement so far as he sat down to speak with the Official Website.

“It is great to be around the first-team. Obviously, there are a lot of great players that you can learn from every day, off the pitch, as well as on the pitch. There’s a lot of experience in the dressing room, so it’s good to be in and around it, and see what goes on. There’s a lot of people to do what you need, people who want you to be fit and ready. There’s a lot of people looking after you which is good. You can get all the help you need, then it will be sorted out for you. I think it takes the pressure off the players, so you can focus on football.”

Given his progress so far, I imagine plenty of fans will be watching out for his name as 2019/20 progresses.
