Wolverhampton Wanderers face Mick McCarthy’s Ipswich Town tonight at Portman Road.

I always find coming up against McCarthy difficult, as I can’t help think back to that turning point when we sacked him.

Of course things were not going great at the time, but I still maintain the thought that he would probably have kept us in the Premier League if we had kept faith in him.

We certainly wouldn’t have suffered back-to-back relegations under McCarthy.

That said, we now meet as equals, as does Richard Stearman who previously enjoyed loan spell with Ipswich.

When his days at Molinuex looked numbered back in 2012/13 he joined Ipswich on loan, he was part of a defence that nine clean sheets in the final 12 games of the season.

He later returned to Wolves and re-joined the squad, later signing a new contract.

“I`ve got some good memories of Ipswich, I enjoyed my time there and it was a successful few months for me and the team.’ Stearman told Wolves Official Website.

He continued: “It will be nice to go back and see a few friendly faces and familiar faces.

“But I am back at Wolves now and we are going down there to go and get the points.
