It’s expected that Wolverhampton Wanderers duo Matt Doherty and Diogo Jota will be back in possible contention for head coach Nuno Espirito Santo when this weekend’s Premier League clash against Bournemouth at Dean Court rolls around.

Doherty played his part in our last match, the FA Cup clash against Bristol City at Ashton Gate, but having taken a knock he came off in the 81st minute. Jota picked up a dead leg in the 1-1 draw with Newcastle United at the Molineux in the previous clash and was substituted with just over 20 minutes remaining in the game.

Physio Room are now listing both players as slight doubts, but with an expected return date of Saturday itself. So given the short time they have been out, they may be passed fit straight away and not need any additional time on the training pitch to get up to speed and sharpness.

Again it’s all credit to the medical staff as we really haven’t had a lengthy lay-off, especially when you think of the injuries at other clubs given the effort Nuno demands.
