In Friday evening’s televised Premier League clash between Wolverhampton Wanderers and Liverpool at the Molineux, head coach Nuno Espirito Santo’s side did lose out 2-0 on the night but we were far from embarrassed across the 90 minutes.

There’s no denying the visitors edged the game and were worthy of victory as their quality and form shone through at the right moments to take the advantage, but we had chances of our own and did largely match them.

2-0 is possibly unfair, with 1-0 maybe fairer to both sides given the effort.

They were the better side though on balance and statistics website Whoscored had their third best player as goalkeeper Alisson so that should tell a story about our performance.

For Wolves, the ever-reliable Matt Doherty took our top rating with 7.36.

Completing the top five on the day were Romain Saiss (7.25), Jonny (7.06), Rui Patricio (6.89) and Willy Boly (6.68).

A hard-fought clash and some will feel hard done by, but we learn from it and we march on.
