Over the weekend Aston Villa were linked with a £5million move for Wolves defender Danny Batth.
The 23-year-old centre-back, who has come through the Wolves academy, to star in our League One promotion winning campaign signed a three-and-a-half-year contract in January.
He made 50 appearances last season, has become a fan favourite and has been named as vice-captain.
If he were to leave Molineux, especially this close to the start of the new Championship season it would be a heavy blow for Wolverhampton Wanderers.
So it’s just as well it sounds like we are prepared to rebuff any approach if it does come.
“I saw the story but we`ve had no approach from Villa,” said head of football operations Kevin Thelwell to the Express & Star.
He continued: “We want him to help us get into the Premier League, rather than him helping someone else in there.
“We`ve had no one contacting us about Danny Batth, and neither would we welcome anyone contacting us about him because he epitomises everything we want about the football club going forwards.
