Portuguese outfit Record were reporting earlier today that Roderick Miranda had left Wolverhampton Wanderers Switerland based training camp to travel to Greece to discuss a possible switch this summer to Olypiacos.

The 27-year-old had been with us and expected to play some part in tonight’s friendly against FC Basel after we were invited to the Uhrencup friendly tournament, and they stated he had left with permission yesterday.

I can’t see in the translation whether it’s a permanent move or a loan switch for 2018/19 but in any event, it’s a slightly unexpected development today.

He joined us last summer from Rio Ave on a four-year deal but he did only play 19 times across all competitions as we secured promotion back to the Premier League, but whatever the deal is maybe this is another opportunity for a quick rebalancing of the books and we have another target in mind?

The benefit for him would obviously be greater game time as well, so it’s possibly just a win-win situation.
