Ryan Bennett is making progress in his recovery from a groin injury, but the 29-year-old looks likely to miss Wolverhampton Wanderers’s meeting with West Ham United. Nuno Espirito Santo need not risk the centre-back on Wednesday night as he has Romain Saiss, Jesus Vallejo and Max Kilman all competing for one spot.

Kilman impressed alongside Leander Dendoncker and Conor Coady in Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Sheffield United and is likely to keep his place as a result. Vallejo was on the bench in that game too. Saiss may have to be content with a backup role in midweek as Nuno should be content with his backline.

How will Wolverhampton Wanderers fare against West Ham United?

Win

Draw

Lose

Bennett may have a tough task of getting minutes upon his eventual return, as  Wolves have plenty of options in his stead and won’t want to exacerbate his injury by bringing him back too soon. The 29-year-old has played only four minutes of Premier League football since mid-October and may have to continue being patient for opportunities.

Nuno had an injury crisis ahead of Wolves’ meeting with Sheffield United but now he’s overstocked in defence.
