Wolves remain keen on Newcastle United striker Alan Smith – Tribalfootball

WOLVES remain keen to bolster our attacking options by raiding Newcastle United and bringing former Leeds and Manchester United striker Alan Smith to Molineux.

Wolves have been linked with a number of Newcastle players this summer, including Nicky Butt and Kevin Nolan.

Now The Times believe that Wolves have continued to show an interest in Alan Smith the striker cum midfielder and could have bagged the player by now if it wasn’t for the takeover talks in the North East.

Vital Wolves Comment: Smith is reportedly one of many Newcastle United players who have actually had a wage increase since their relegation rather than a decrease.

Smith is likely to be on around £50,000 a week and Newcastle are likely to want to send him out on loan to try and save on wages.

Whether we would be interested is probably reliant on what % of wages Newcastle are happy to continue to pay.
